CHOOSING YOUR NEXT STEP AND BEING ABLE TO SAY WHY

Michelle Jones, President and Founder, Wayfinding Academy

Many young people feel like they need to go to a four-year college after high school because that is what everyone else

is doing or that is what society tells them to do. For others, there are other paths that will help them get to where they are

trying to go. Sometimes these other paths are a better fit for them. We will explore this decision point and discuss a bit about

the benefits and disadvantages of various options (e.g., a four-year college, a gap year program, a two-year community

college, an alternative college like Wayfinding Academy, and others) and help students at this decision point make the choice

that is best for them. Our goal in this session is to help students make informed and intentional choices and be able to

articulate their why.
